THE OPPORTUNITY:
As the President of our Kansas City Metro market, you will play a central role in shaping the success and growth of the bank by combining strategic leadership with a focus on sales and revenue generation, credit expertise, client relationship management, leadership and influence of the Kansas City team, and building market presence through community engagement. Your expertise will be crucial in driving our local commercial banking strategy and ensuring a cohesive, high-performing team that aligns with and meets our organizational growth goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Regional Sales Activity and Leadership: Lead by example in our regional market sales efforts, fostering collaboration among teams to establish and expand client relationships. Be active in the market in direct sales calls to prospective new clients and centers of influence, while holding producers accountable for goal attainment and financial outcomes, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing sales force. Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives that align with organizational goals, driving market share growth and ensuring overall profitability.
- Credit Expertise: Guide commercial bankers and treasury management officers in identifying and underwriting (predominately) C&I loan opportunities. Collaborate with Credit Officers in making informed credit decisions, ensuring sound risk management practices.
- Leadership and Strategy: Be responsible for providing visionary leadership to our commercial banking, treasury management, and overall Kansas City Metro market team. Serve as a strong partner with senior management in creation and execution of local market strategy to attain goals, drive growth, and align with the overall company strategic pan. Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and market conditions. Utilize this knowledge to identify opportunities for expanding the commercial banking business and adapting strategies accordingly.
- Team Recruitment and Development: Recruit, develop, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, both through direct leadership and overall market influence. Demonstrate effective coaching and engagement strategies to achieve outstanding results, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and accountability.
- Community Engagement: Lead initiatives to strengthen the bank’s presence in the Kansas City Metro community by fostering partnerships and participating in philanthropic activities. Be actively engaged in building connections, attending networking and community events, and strengthening partnerships with centers of influence. Serve in a leadership role(s) with community/non-profit organizations.
MANAGER OBJECTIVES CRITICAL TO SUCCESS:
- Support Team Goals – Responsible for setting and tracking progress on annual team goals that align with the company strategic plan. Collaborate with direct reports to establish their goals, and hold employees accountable for tracking and achieving goals, while coaching employees on how to appropriately navigate any roadblocks.
- Professional Development – Provide leadership and guidance for direct reports in their development. Support employee training and education initiatives from effective onboarding to career development. Empower employees to own their role and responsibilities effectively and efficiently, and work autonomously as appropriate. Proactively assess the teammates performance and eligibility for promotions.
- Performance Management – Proactively manage and document performance of direct reports. Utilize FBIZ EDGE to document regular and meaningful feedback to celebrate success and acknowledge any performance gaps. Ensure you are completing monthly 1-1s, timely check-ins, and tracking goal progression. Hold direct reports accountable for meeting their job performance objectives and companywide deadlines (compliance training, FBIZ EDGE, expense reports, etc.).
