THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Vice President – Commercial Banking is responsible for providing effective and quality service to prospective and current business banking clients, generating new commercial loan relationships through prospecting and business development activities, actively promoting the sale of all First Business products through cross-selling, and taking an active role in the community through service and professional associations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Actively call on prospective and existing commercial loan and deposit clients.
Meet minimum prospect call goals as established each month.
Call on referral sources to promote the bank and products and to establish referral networks.
Appropriately manage designated portfolio of clients.
Make ongoing on-site visits to client’s business to analyze the management of the business for potential credit risk.
Monitor loan performance, loan agreements, financial statements, and collateral to ensure the quality of the loan.
Underwrite deals by analyzing financial statements and spreads, including adequacy of income and sufficiency of collateral.
Prepare and present credit presentations for Loan Committee.
Check the accuracy of documents while making sure client signs in all appropriate places and understands all documents.
Work closely with the commercial lending and treasury management team, as well as other First Business entities, to cross-sell products and services to existing and prospective clients.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
Post-Secondary degree in relevant field of study
Minimum of 5 years of commercial banking experience
Become an active member of the community by attending networking events and developing relationships with centers of influence
Participate and become a member of at least one community service organization.
Ability to prioritize work flow to meet numerous levels of deadlines
