I’ve been in the recruiting business for 30 years and in Executive Search, with Cornerstone Kansas City, for 16 of those years. (Yes, I started working when I was five. ? In the last 18 years, I’ve seen many changes, both personally and professionally.
I started in this business right after my daughter was born and in that time she has gone from crawling to walking to riding a bike, to driving (yikes!). She and my job serve as constant reminders that time marches on, things change quickly and constantly, and that I will always have a lot to learn.
During that same 18 years, I’ve seen the mechanics of Executive Search go from a telephone, reams of paper and a filing cabinet, to the computer, smartphone, email, text, social media, and blogging.
The tools of the trade have changed immensely, but the overriding value and purpose have not: We bring quality people together.
Ours is a relationship business and, although the method of communication within the relationship has changed dramatically, the foundation and value of what we do have held steady.
Quite simply we create relationships with our client companies by getting to know them: their culture, their people, and their Executive hiring needs. Then we go into the market on their behalf to identify Executives that fit their needs. We’re matchmakers!
This is my first ever blog post. I’m still learning. We hope you stay tuned to learn more about us and we look forward to learning more about you. Thanks!
