On May 20, 2018, Joe Burrow transferred from Ohio State University to Louisiana State University (LSU) in hopes of winning the starting quarterback position. On January 13, 2020, Joe Burrow led the LSU Tigers to a 42-25 victory against the Clemon Tigers in the National Championship game. Like sports teams trying to find a game charger for their program, most every company strives to find one candidate that can help them elevate their organization from good to great.
Overall, my internship experience at Cornerstone International Group-Kansas City was an amazing one. After playing football for so long and now at LSU, I learned the recruiting process truly is a different kind of battlefield, from moving around and snapping footballs to sitting behind a desk and figuring out a marketing budget or discovering how to find potential clients, the knowledge gained was invaluable.
Sometimes it can be frustrating when you do not achieve your goals, but football taught me to preserve no matter what obstacle is in front of me and that good can be better. Working at Cornerstone Kansas City allowed me to be more self-aware of my own strengths and weaknesses and how to cooperate and communicate effectively with others by understanding other people’s communication style.
Cornerstone did not just help me develop as a Recruiter, they also helped me to develop into a better athlete and leader. I look forward to re-joining this family in the future to further develop into a better version of myself.
